Lunch is both casual and special, a free-wheeling affair that takes place wherever guests and hosts may fancy.
You may find yourself on the stone terrace enjoying a BBQ of homemade sausage, grilled shrimp and lamb, and fresh corn-on-the-cob, with fruit tarts for dessert. Or sharing a gourmet picnic on an island, your canoe pulled up on the shore, lobster salad, freshly baked bread and French cheeses spread out before you.
Many guests like to hike the trail around the peninsula to "Camp David," where a robust lunch awaits them. In the winter, cookouts by the lean-to bonfire are rousing occasions, as guests share stories and compare notes.
If you choose to dine with fellow guests, lunch is served in the Great Hall at 1:00 p.m.—and if you are departing that day, we will make a special boxed lunch for you to take away with you.
